What happens next

I'll cover roughly 8 hours of your day, starting about an hour before the ceremony. If booking photos too, I'll send you a form to get more details of the day, such as group shots.

Want a particular song on your highlights film? Pick one from Lickd's licensed catalogue. You'll have 2 weeks from when I ask you to choose - if I haven't heard from you by then, I'll pick something that fits.

Your Instagram Reel (ambient sound only, no music added, so you're free to soundtrack it yourself) will land within a week of the wedding day. Tag @retrocamcorderfilms if you share it!

Your full highlights film and the Full Camcorder Cut (every usable moment, with mistakes trimmed out) will follow within 4 weeks of the wedding. If you'd rather have a folder of raw clips instead of the compiled cut, just let me know before I start editing.

If your wedding is outside South East England or in Greater London, a small travel fee may apply - I'll confirm the amount with you directly.

We can speak as much or as little as you like between now and your wedding day - if you need any help or advice, just get in touch. Also, make sure you're following me on Instagram!

CAMCORDER WEDDINGS - TERMS & CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions are provided in the interests of both "the Client", defined as the couple named on the booking form, and Camcorder Weddings (Anna Downing) ("the Videographer"), a trading name of Anna Pumer Photography Ltd ("the Company").

Please ensure that you have read and understood these terms before placing your booking. The Client is deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions in full upon signing the booking form and making the payment applicable to their package under Section 9.

These terms represent the total agreement made between the parties and cannot be varied by the Client unless expressly agreed by the Videographer in writing.

1. The Camcorder Wedding Film

1.1 The Camcorder Weddings service creates a fun, nostalgic and informal record of the wedding day using consumer camcorders and the characteristic aesthetic associated with home video from the 1990s and 2000s.

1.2 The service is offered under two packages - Director's Cut and Double Feature - as set out in Section 8. References to filming, coverage and equipment in Sections 1-7 apply to Director's Cut and Double Feature, where the Videographer personally attends and films.

1.3 The standard filming service covers the wedding day from preparations through to dancing, usually for approximately 8 hours, unless otherwise agreed on the booking form.

1.4 Coverage will generally begin approximately one hour before the ceremony, although the exact start time will be agreed in advance.

1.5 The final highlights film will be approximately 5 minutes long, depending on the events and footage captured on the day. A separate, longer compilation of the day's footage is also included - see Section 4, Full Camcorder Cut.

1.6 The final highlights film is set to music. It is not a full recording of the wedding ceremony, speeches or other individual events.

1.7 The Videographer does not record full ceremonies, full speeches, full readings or other events from beginning to end. The purpose of the highlights film is to capture atmosphere, candid moments, reactions, dancing, laughter, details and the general feeling of the day, rather than to provide a comprehensive documentary record of everything that happened.

2. Audio

2.1 The Videographer uses a shotgun microphone as part of the standard service, to help focus and narrow down the direction sound is picked up from - not to amplify or professionally record audio. No dedicated audio recorders or other professional sound equipment are used.

2.2 Where ambient sound or naturally occurring spoken words (such as parts of vows, speeches, readings or conversation) are picked up with sufficient quality, they may be kept in the main film. This reflects only what was naturally captured in the moment - the Videographer does not creatively edit, cut together or "weave" spoken audio from different points of the day into an artificial sequence.

2.3 The main highlights film is primarily set to music, professionally licensed via Lickd (or an equivalent licensed music platform). The Client may choose a track from Lickd's licensed catalogue, and will have 2 weeks from being asked to make a selection. If no selection is received within that time, the Videographer will choose a track that fits the film. This same process applies to all packages..

2.4 The Client understands that audio is not professionally recorded and that no particular audio, speech, vows or spoken words are guaranteed to be included. No package should be booked on the expectation of receiving a recording of vows, ceremony, speeches or other spoken content.

3. Instagram Reel

3.1 The top Camcorder Hire package includes a 1-minute vertical Instagram Reel, edited from footage captured during the wedding day and delivered in a format suitable for social media.

3.2 The Reel is a creative highlights edit and is not a separate record of the full wedding. The Videographer retains creative discretion over the selection, order and editing of footage used.

3.3 Unlike the main highlights film, the Reel is not set to music. It will include only the ambient sound naturally captured on the day (or no audio, where none of sufficient quality was captured), so the Client is free to add their own choice of music or soundtrack when sharing it.

3.4 The Client is welcome (though not obliged) to tag @retrocamcorderfilms when sharing the Reel or the finished film on social media.

4. Full Camcorder Cut

4.1 Every package includes a Full Camcorder Cut, which compiles all usable footage captured on the day into one continuous film, with clear mistakes removed (such as accidental recording, extended blank or unusable footage, and duplicate or redundant segments).

4.2 The Full Camcorder Cut is not set to music and is presented largely in the order it was captured, without the creative editing, restructuring or storytelling applied to the main highlights film.

4.3 Where the Client would prefer not to receive the Full Camcorder Cut as a single compiled film, they may instead request delivery of the underlying footage as a folder of individual video files, at no additional cost. This request should be made in writing before editing begins.

4.4 The Full Camcorder Cut (or folder of files, where requested) is delivered alongside the main highlights film, within the timescales set out in Section 13.

5. The Camcorder Aesthetic

5.1 The Client acknowledges that the intentionally imperfect nature of consumer camcorder footage - including camera shake, wobbly movement, zooming, imperfect focus, exposure changes, grain, digital noise, blown highlights, low-light noise and other artefacts associated with older consumer video cameras - forms an essential part of the service and is not a fault or failure of it.

5.2 The Videographer has full creative and artistic licence over the way the footage is filmed and edited.

6. Low Light and Ceremony Lighting

6.1 This section applies where the Videographer is personally filming (Director's Cut and Double Feature).

6.2 Camcorders of the type used by Camcorder Weddings perform differently from modern professional cinema cameras, particularly in very dark environments. Where the ceremony or another part of the wedding is too dark for the camcorder to produce usable footage, the Videographer may need to use a small panel light, positioned and used as unobtrusively as possible. This does not constitute a failure to provide the service.

7. Coverage and Requested Moments

7.1 The Videographer will use reasonable endeavours to capture a varied selection of moments throughout the agreed coverage period. The Client may suggest particular people, moments or parts of the day they would especially like captured, but specific shots, people, reactions or interactions cannot be guaranteed.

7.2 During Director's Cut and Double Feature coverage, the Videographer may hand their second camcorder to guests at points during the day so they can capture additional footage from their own perspective. This is done at the Videographer's discretion, and footage obtained this way is treated the same as footage captured directly by the Videographer.

7.3 The Videographer cannot be held responsible for missed footage caused by timing, weather, venue restrictions, poor lighting, guests obstructing the camera, changes to the wedding schedule, restricted access or circumstances outside the Videographer's reasonable control. Due to the highlights-based nature of the film, not every guest, moment or part of the day will necessarily appear in the final film.

8. Packages

8.1 Camcorder Weddings is offered under three packages, as agreed on the booking form:

  • Director's Cut - the Videographer personally films the wedding day as described in Section 1, and edits the footage into the finished highlights film, Full Camcorder Cut and Instagram Reel.
  • Double Feature - the Videographer personally attends and captures both photographs and film footage of the wedding day, and edits the footage into the finished highlights film, Full Camcorder Cut and Instagram Reel.

8.2 Package prices are as set out on the booking form and confirmed with the Client at the time of booking.

9. Booking Fee and Deposits

9.1 Director's Cut: a deposit of £500 is required at the time of booking to secure the Client's wedding date. This deposit is non-refundable after the cooling-off period described in Section 18, except where otherwise required by law. Where the booking is made less than 5 weeks before the wedding date, the full package price is payable at the time of booking.

9.2 Double Feature: a deposit of £500 is required at the time of booking to secure the Client's wedding date. This deposit is non-refundable after the cooling-off period described in Section 18, except where otherwise required by law.

10. Payment

10.1 Director's Cut: the remaining balance is payable no later than 4 weeks before the wedding date, following an invoice from the Videographer.

10.2 Double Feature: the remaining balance is payable no later than 4 weeks before the wedding date, by bank transfer, following an invoice from the Videographer.

10.3 If the balance for either package is not received by the due date, the Videographer reserves the right not to provide the services until payment has been received, or to treat the contract as cancelled by the Client.

11. Additional Coverage

11.1 Additional coverage may be requested subject to the Videographer's availability, and will be charged at the Videographer's current applicable rate if agreed before the wedding.

11.2 Additional coverage requested on the wedding day cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated where reasonably possible; any fee for this is payable no later than 14 days after the wedding.

12. Travel

12.1 This section applies to Director's Cut and Double Feature, where the Videographer personally attends to film.

12.2 A travel fee may apply where the wedding venue is more than 1 hour's travel from Heathfield, East Sussex (Director's Cut), or more than 2 hours' travel from Heathfield, East Sussex (Double Feature). The amount will be agreed with the Client in advance.

12.3 For weddings abroad, flights, accommodation, transfers, car hire and other necessary travel expenses are not included unless specifically stated on the booking form.

13. Delivery of Films

13.1 The finished highlights film and Full Camcorder Cut will be delivered digitally within 4 weeks, provided the footage is accessible for editing: for Director's Cut and Double Feature, within 4 weeks of the wedding. The Instagram Reel is delivered separately and sooner, per Section 3.4.

13.2 Delivery will normally be via an online gallery, download link or other suitable digital delivery method. The Client is responsible for downloading and safely storing their finished films once delivered - the Videographer cannot guarantee permanent online storage and recommends the Client keeps their own backup copies.

14. Copyright and Use of the Film

14.1 Copyright in all footage and films created by the Videographer remains the property of the Videographer in accordance with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

14.2 The Client is granted a personal, non-exclusive licence to download, keep and share the completed highlights film, Full Camcorder Cut and Instagram Reel for personal use, including on personal social media accounts.

14.3 The Client may not sell, commercially license, substantially alter or commercially exploit the footage without written permission from the Videographer, and may not apply filters, colour grading or other alterations that materially change the finished highlights film or Full Camcorder Cut and present the altered version as the Videographer's work. For the avoidance of doubt, adding the Client's own choice of music to the Instagram Reel as contemplated in Section 3.3 is permitted.

15. Raw Footage

15.1 Raw and unedited footage beyond the Full Camcorder Cut (or folder of files, where requested under Section 4.3) is not included in the standard service, and the Videographer is not required to provide unused, rejected footage excluded as a clear mistake under Section 4.1.

15.2 The Videographer may delete unused footage once the final films have been delivered and a reasonable period has elapsed.

18. Cancellation by the Client

18.1 The Client has a 14-day cooling-off period after booking, during which they may cancel and receive a refund of monies paid, subject to applicable law. After this period, any deposit or full payment already made is non-refundable, save as set out below.

18.2 Where cancellation occurs less than 60 days before the wedding date, the Client shall remain liable for 75% of the total package price, less any deposit or other payments already made, unless otherwise agreed by the Videographer. This sum represents a reasonable estimate of the loss the Videographer may suffer by reserving the date and potentially declining other work.

18.3 If the Videographer is able to re-book the date, they may, at their discretion, refund some or all of the amount paid, less any reasonable costs already incurred.

19. Postponement

19.1 If the Client needs to postpone their wedding, the Videographer will make reasonable efforts to transfer the booking to the new date, subject to availability and at the Videographer's discretion. If the new date is unavailable, the postponement will be treated as a cancellation and the terms in Section 18 will apply.

20. Cancellation by the Videographer

20.1 In the unlikely event that the Videographer is forced to cancel due to serious illness, injury, death or other circumstances beyond their reasonable control, liability will be limited to a refund of monies paid to date.

20.2 The Videographer will use reasonable endeavours to find a suitable replacement where possible, though this cannot be guaranteed, particularly at short notice or at the same price or style. Where a replacement is found, the Client may choose to accept the replacement or receive a refund of monies paid.

21. Equipment Failure and Loss of Footage

21.1 This section applies to Director's Cut and Double Feature, where the Videographer films using their own equipment.

21.2 The Videographer will take reasonable precautions to protect recorded footage. However, the Client acknowledges that electronic equipment and digital media can fail and that footage may, in exceptional circumstances, be corrupted, lost or rendered unusable despite reasonable precautions.

21.3 In the unlikely event of total or substantial loss of footage, the Videographer's liability will be limited to the total amount paid by the Client under this contract. Neither party shall be liable for indirect or consequential loss.

22. Artistic Licence

22.1 The Client grants the Videographer full creative and artistic licence regarding filming style, camera movement, framing, locations, subjects, editing, music and final film selection, insofar as the Videographer is the one filming (Director's Cut and Double Feature) or editing (all packages). The Videographer's final creative judgement regarding the selection and editing of footage shall be deemed correct.

22.2 If the Client identifies a factual issue with the finished film - for example, someone appearing who should not have been included - the Videographer will make reasonable edits to correct it. This does not extend to requests to change the creative style, structure, pacing, music, shot selection or overall edit: those decisions remain entirely at the Videographer's discretion, and the finished film delivered under this section is final.

23. Venue and Ceremony Restrictions

23.1 The Videographer will comply with reasonable instructions and restrictions imposed by the venue, registrar, celebrant, church or other authority. Such restrictions may affect the footage captured. The Videographer cannot be held responsible for reduced or missed coverage resulting from such restrictions.

24. Weather and Outdoor Filming

24.1 The Videographer may continue filming outdoors in light or moderate adverse weather where it is reasonably safe to do so, and may stop or alter filming where conditions present a risk to the Videographer, equipment or others. Weather may affect the amount of outdoor footage captured.

25. Guests and Third Parties

25.1 The Client is responsible for informing their guests and relevant participants that filming will take place. The Videographer will make reasonable efforts to respect any individual who specifically asks not to be filmed, but due to the candid and documentary nature of the service cannot guarantee that every person appearing incidentally in the background of footage can be identified or removed.

26. Model Release and Promotional Use

26.1 The Client grants the Videographer permission to use footage containing the Client for promoting Camcorder Weddings, including on its website, social media, advertising, editorial features and promotional materials. The Videographer will not knowingly use footage in a deliberately derogatory or damaging manner towards the Client.

26.2 If the Client does not wish their footage to be used for promotional purposes, they should notify the Videographer in writing before the wedding.

27. Data Protection

27.1 The Videographer will process the Client's personal information for the purposes of administering the booking, providing the contracted services, communicating with the Client and complying with legal and accounting requirements. Personal information will not be sold to third parties.

28. Limitation of Liability

28.1 In the unlikely event of total filming failure, cancellation or loss of footage, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, the liability of one party to the other shall be limited to the total value of the contract, except where such limitation is not permitted by law. Neither party shall be liable for indirect or consequential loss.

28.2 Camcorder Weddings operates as a trading name of Anna Pumer Photography Ltd. Any liability arising under this contract is limited to, and enforceable against, Anna Pumer Photography Ltd.

29. Client Declaration

29.1 By signing the booking form by adding their names and date below the link to these terms, and by paying the amount applicable to their chosen package under Section 9, the Client confirms that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, and wishes to book the services of Camcorder Weddings for their wedding day.

TERMS FOR DOUBLE FEATURE - THE PHOTOS

The following are standard terms and conditions used by photographers, provided in the interests of both "the Client", defined as the couple named on the booking form, and Anna Pumer Photography (Anna Downing) ("the Photographer"). The Client is deemed to have accepted these terms in full upon payment of the booking fee, and they cannot be varied by the Client unless expressly agreed by the Photographer in writing.

Non-Refundable Booking Fee

The booking fee secures the Photographer for a particular time and date and is non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of cancellation or postponement by the Client. When paying, please reference the payment [surname & date of wedding]. Moving wedding dates requires a new deposit and is treated as a cancellation and new booking.

Payment

Full payment of the remaining balance is required no later than the 1st of the month prior to the wedding (e.g. for a 30th July wedding, payment is due 1st June), by bank transfer to Anna Pumer Photography. Dates are only reserved once the booking fee has been received in full. If the balance is not received by the due date, the Photographer reserves the right not to provide services until payment is received, or to treat the contract as cancelled.

Additional Coverage

Additional coverage not otherwise agreed is charged at the Photographer's current hourly rate up to 48 hours before the wedding; inside that window, at current rates. For a full day, coverage usually begins 1.5 hours before the ceremony unless otherwise agreed. Any additional fee is payable no later than 14 days after the wedding.

Travel Fees

Weddings more than 2 hours outside Sussex incur a bespoke travel fee based on location.

Cancellation by the Client

There is a 14-day cooling-off period after booking, during which the Client will receive a full refund. After 14 days, the non-refundable booking fee is not returned. If cancelling after the full balance is paid, no money is returned, unless the Photographer re-books the date, in which case the balance (minus the booking fee) may be refunded at the Photographer's discretion. Cancellation within 60 days of the ceremony requires payment of 75% of the contract value, as compensation for potential lost work.

Cancellation by the Photographer

In the unlikely event the Photographer is forced to cancel due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g. serious injury, illness or death), liability is limited to a refund of monies paid to date. The Photographer will use reasonable endeavours to find a similarly styled replacement; if found, the Client may accept the replacement or take the refund. Where two photographers were booked and both are unavailable, a single replacement will be sourced unless two appropriate replacements can be found; for an unavailable second photographer alone, the Client will either be refunded that cost or a replacement found.

In the event of total photographic failure or cancellation by either party, whether by negligence or otherwise, liability is limited to the total value of the contract, and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Weddings Abroad

The Photographer is not responsible for missing part or all of the wedding due to flight or train delay or cancellation, and will endeavour to travel to the destination 48 hours before the wedding to minimise this risk. Flights (economy), two nights' accommodation near the venue and 3 days' car hire are not included in the standard price and will be added to the invoice.

Copyright and Image Files

Copyright in all photographs remains the Photographer's property under the Copyright, Designs & Patents Act 1988. The Photographer may use images for advertising, editorial, display and competition purposes without compensation to the Client. High-resolution files are supplied via online gallery for personal use with the right to print; the Client may share online only with credit to the Photographer, and may not edit, filter, crop or alter colours. The gallery remains live for 6 months after the wedding - the Client is strongly advised to download images as soon as they receive them, as no liability is held for loss after delivery.

Exclusivity

The Photographer is the sole professional stills photographer on the day, and may ask guests to refrain from photography where it corrupts the official coverage (e.g. flashes, obstruction, distraction).

Artistic Licence and Requested Photographs

The Photographer will work with the Client to find suitable locations where possible, but retains full creative and artistic licence over locations, poses and groups, and final judgement on style, allocated time and number of photographs shall be deemed correct. The Photographer will use reasonable endeavours to honour requests for specific photographs, subject to weather, time, and the availability and willingness of subjects, but cannot guarantee any specific picture, background, location, arrangement, or a photo of every guest or detail, and is not responsible for restrictions imposed by the Client, wedding party or ceremony venue.

Retouching Fees

Standard editing (lighting, contrast, colour correction and the Photographer's signature style) is included. More involved Photoshopping - adding or removing anything from an image, extensive touch-ups, colour/black-and-white conversion or cropping - may incur an extra fee depending on scope. The Photographer will never use selective colour, add anything that wasn't present, or change how people look (aside from removing unexpected spots); the Client is not permitted to edit the photos in any way.

Delivery

Images (minimum 50 per hour of coverage) are delivered via downloadable online gallery within 8 weeks of the wedding, slightly longer in high season (April-September weddings). The gallery remains accessible for 6 months - downloading all images promptly is highly recommended.

Model Release

The Client grants the Photographer the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs of the Client for online, print, editorial, trade, advertising and any other purpose and medium, though never in a derogatory or damaging way towards the Client.

Client Declaration

By paying the non-refundable booking fee/full balance and signing this contract (by adding names and date on the booking form below the link to this page), the Client agrees to be bound by these terms and would like to book the Photographer for their wedding day.
